Can someone please explain to me how $50's for XBL a year mind you is a ripoff?

 

I'm willing to bet that the majoority of people complaining about this spend more than that a week on fast food alone.  

 

That or dank,  pills or whatever else they chose to get high with, but I digress.

 

The reason i'm ranting about this is because I was just at planetxbox360.com, in which they had an article from, wait for it...an analyst who basically spells out gloom and doom for MS this holiday season if upcoming block busters such as Halo3 don't move hardware.  One of the other reasons they feel MS should worry is because XBL is the only company that charges for online.  They also said that there is no noticeable difference between MS's offerings online (service wise) and their competition.

 

Did I miss something here?

 

I wonder if these people have tried PSN network or WII online or whatever the hell they call it.  Let's just say you get what you pay for.   Now, to my knowledge, I don't believe MS has made a comment about what the money goes towards, but i'm willing to bet master servers play  a big part of that  Not to mention the quality and reliability for XBL all the maintenance and upkeep and ease of use.  Someones got to pay for it, and for $50's a year i'm not trippin, hell I spend more on stupid stuff on a daily basis.

 

I don't know what changes are in store for XBL, but I will say this, i've been  on XBL since I was a beta tester and have no regrets.  If, not when but IF sony and nintendo can offer the same service for free, then we'll have to discuss some things but until then, these guys are full of it if you ask me.  I wish them the best, but i'm sick of all the nonsense from these "analysts"  (who allways seem to be wrong by the way) who not only don't know about games, they don't even play them.  We'll  see who has the last laugh when MS and Bungie kicks them in the nuts with an awesome '07 lineup and upcoming titles that we haven't even seen yet.

Finally I have made a commentment to at least once a week make a blog entry, so to anyone reading this i'd like to say, Hi!

 

One of the things I want to do with my blog is talk about games.  I've been gaming for over 20 years, and after all that time I can honestly say that this coming holiday lineup is going to be AMAZING.

 

If your a 360  owner.

 

Don't get me wrong, i'm a gamer, I don't care what platform it's on as long as it's good.  However, I must say that I have a very heavy lean to the 360 amd have been since the original XBOX came out.  To me the 360 represents what gaming is all about and if you need proof of that, just look at the lineup coming your way soon, not to mention the games and services allready available.

 

To keep this short I will just say that i'm a HUGE Halo fan and can't wait for Halo3.  I'll be going into more detail about why I love Halo so much, i'm a fanboy, but not an ignorant one, there are issues with the 360 to be sure and i'm not blind to that fact, i'm just saying give props were props are due.  Well I have to go to work now  but stay tuned for my next post when I explain why Halo is not just a game but an experience.
